A splitboarding weekend well spend on the hut with likeminded people is a simple concept that always works. The plan is to splitboard as much as possible and build up experience for a hut traverse or a trip to Norway.
In this weekend everybody is welcome that has off-piste experience and is able to ride in different kinds of conditions. The first day we meet in Ischgl and do a quick gear checkup. We’ll take a few lifts, ride a few lines and get to know each other and see which group is the most beneficial for you. After a quick lunch we will splitboard further into the valley. By the end of the afternoon we’ll arrive at the Heidelberger hütte and set up a multiple burial beacon training. Then we eat dinner together, take a look at the map and other planning tools.
The next 2 days we will make tours between 500m-1000m depending on conditions and weather. If the weather really sucks, we go over to plan B, we will use the lifts of the resort of Ischgl/ Samnaun. Which gives us plenty of options to shred. During these days, we will give you more insights in snow stability, avalanche bulletins, tour planning, splitboard techniques and riding tips & tricks.
* The exact order and mountains we hike will depend on weather and snow conditions.

The Heidelberger hütte is a great place, with a warm and welcome host that provides us dinner and breakfast. From here you can make several tours directly on the Swiss/Austrian border. The rooms are simple and accommodate 2-10 people comfortably. The hut is based in the middle of nowhere at 2264m, with possibilities to tour to a few 3000m peaks. Within a 30 min. ride down, you will reach the ski resort Ischgl
Each day we ascend in between 500-1000 vertical meters, that’s around 3-6 hours of touring up in a relaxed way. Snowboarding wise, you should be able to ride comfortably in variable- and powder snow on steep slopes up to 40 degrees.
