For the second year in a row we are going to snowboard in the Lofoten. When the Alps are getting green and you are still looking for the white gold, this might be a very interesting splitboard/tourski trip for you. It is a very honest splitboarding adventure with all the comfort a splitboarder needs. We reserved some typical Norwegian apartments at the cozy harbor of Kabelvag with a kitchen and one of the best outdoor grill setups with a Fjord view.
We will meet at the airport of Harstad/Narvik (EVE) and from there we drive with our rental cars to the holy grail of splitboarding. In total there will be 6 guided days on different locations reached by car and splitboard. You should be able to hike around 700-1200 vertical meters per day with a full backpack and have a solid snowboard/splitboard technique in off-piste terrain.
In spring the days are long and offer plenty of time with a big time window to go touring. Apart from the mountain adventures, there are possibilities to go bouldering, fishing, sightseeing, and surfing. For a full report about our last trip, you can our trip report “Lofoten the holy grail of splitboarding”.
* The exact order and mountains we hike will depend on weather and snow conditions.

It’s important to relax and revive after a long day of touring. We got these warm little cozy Norwegian houses with a harbor view. It’s a walking distance to the nearest supermarket, grill and boulder place. Each day we drive from here with our cars to our touring destination. Each little wooden house houses 3-6 people and has got their own kitchen. After touring you can even have a dip in the Salt cold water, a perfect way regenerate your muscles after a long day of ski touring.
You should have some experience in splitboarding on icy or compact snow and have to be able to make a solid kickturn. What also helps if you can descend short flat parts in ski mode, but this is not necessary. You don’t need any crampon/ice-pick experience as this is the perfect location to get accustomed to this climbing gear. Each day we ascend in between 700-1200 vertical meters, that’s around 3-6 hours of touring up in a relaxed way. Snowboarding wise, you should be able to ride comfortably in spring- and powder snow on steep slopes up to 40 degrees.
